🔧 What Is It?
This is a 3-tier wooden planter built on a sturdy A-frame with rolling wheels. It allows you to grow more plants in a small space by stacking planters vertically. The angled design ensures each level gets sunlight and water efficiently, and the wheels make it easy to move around.
🛠 Materials Needed:
- Wood planks (preferably treated pine or cedar for outdoor use)
- Screws or nails
- Wood glue (optional but adds durability)
- Four wooden discs for wheels
- Wood dowels or axles for wheel connection
- Sandpaper
- Drill, saw, measuring tape
📏 Basic Dimensions (Estimate):
- Width: ~90–100 cm
- Height: ~120 cm
- Each box: ~20–25 cm height, 25 cm depth
- Angle of support: Around 60–70° for optimal sunlight exposure
🔨 Build Process Summary:
1. Cut and Assemble the Boxes
- Create three rectangular planter boxes.
- Use wooden planks for the sides and bottom. Drill drainage holes if using for plants.
- Sand all edges.
2. Build the A-Frame
- Cut angled side supports to fit three levels.
- Attach cross-beams at intervals where each box will rest.
- Make sure the base is wide enough to be stable.
3. Mount the Boxes
- Secure each box into place using screws.
- You can screw them directly to the side supports or rest them on wooden ledges for easy removal.
4. Add Wheels
- Attach wooden discs as wheels with bolts or wooden axles.
- Wheels are optional but add mobility (great for moving between sun and shade).
5. Finishing Touches
- Sand everything smooth.
- Optionally seal or stain the wood for weatherproofing.
- Add a handle or bar on the back to help push or pull it like a cart.
